Jason Moore’s great-grand father (born in 1853) was literally a slave for 12 years! Wondering what his life was like, inspired Jason to write about his own experiences.
Warrior Carrying Water’ is a collection rhyming poems and short stories influenced by the cover art (an African warrior carrying water = peace) and hip hop, history, religion, being an officer in the Navy, and balancing work and family to answer the question (a 100 years from now), ‘What was life like back in 2023?

I like to read it a night before I fall asleep, it gives me something to ponder. It has really nice rhymes and you can read it like you want to and make it personal.
